Kerala Box- office (July 25-Aug 25)

In the last 75 days, nearly 20 Malayalam films were released, out of which the big winners are Puthiya Mugham and Ivar Vivahitharayal. The investment and return on these two films have made them profitable for all concerned.

Mammootty and Mohanlal releases were very average and may not even cover their cost. The good news as far as Malayalam cinema is concerned is that the audiences are finally acknowledging the presence of younger stars like Prithviraj and Jayasurya.

Look at the way the breezy entertainer Lal's To Harihar Nagar is doing in smaller stations, it proves that good content will always be lapped up. The bad news is that M & M seems to be on the decline as their films are not able to get that all important opening, which was earlier their trump card.

Here is a list of the top five at the KBO in the last 75 days

Note : Ratings are based on the box office collections and the cost of the film
