In 'Urumi', the new period film, Prithviraj will play the role of Chiraycakal Kelu Nayanar’. Pre-production works of the film have almost ended. The movie is set in the 16th century and the character that Prithviraj plays is a leader of a gang that is conspiring to slay Vasco Da Gama, the first European traveller to land in Kerala in the year 1498. Kelu Nayanar is portrayed as an associate of the ruler of the princely state of Kolathu Naadu. Genelia will don heroine role .
Prithviraj, for the first time, is starring in a period film and is delighted to play such a character that is associated with several stories of heroism. The story is by Sankar Ramakrishnan. Shooting of the Santhosh Sivan film will begin soon after Onam at Malchet Ghat, Mahrashtra.
