Top ranking actor Prakash Raj will portray a significant character in Amal Neerad's new movie Anwar. Prakasah Raj who bagged the National Award for his power packed performance in Kancheevaram will share the screen with Prithvi Raj, Lal and Mamta in the film.
Prakash Raj's last Malayalam film was Pandippada (2005) with Dileep. Amal, well known for visually elegant films like Big B and Sagar alias Jacky, takes up the theme of terrorism in his new venture. Amal and Prithviraj are coming together for the first time with this film.Mamta too is paired opposite Prithviraj for the first time. The two have had many opportunities to work together including the most recent Raghupathy Raghava Rajaram, but somehow, nothing materialised. Meanwhile, this is Mamta's first Malayalam film after Passenger last year.
Produced by Raj Zacharias under the banner Celebs & Red Carpet, the movie is scripted by Amal Neerad and R Unni. Music and Back ground score is by Gopi Sundar while Vivek Harshan will handle the editing of the movie. The shooting of the movie will begin on February. Anwar will hit the screens in July 2010.
