The major ongoing discussion in the industry and among the viewers right now is whether its time to accord young star Prithviraj with Superstardom or not. Whatever be the case, it cannot be denied that the youngster has risen to be a real star, and is being looked upon as the new generation Superstar who could perhaps deliver a hit by himself.
The box office records show a slightly different picture though, since both Anwar and The Thriller, that drew huge initials, couldn’t sustain the collections for long. Prithvi however had a bumper hit through Pokkiri Raja, and proved that nothing succeeds like success. He was also part of one of the biggest releases of the year Ravanan and also has some very interesting projects lined up for the next year.
The debate as to whether the actor is hotheaded or not still goes on, and people continue to take sides. However, as an actor, there is no denying the sturdy strides that Prithvi has been making decidedly.

It is a man's world, at least in the Malayalam film industry. Gone are the days when actresses performed magically on the screen, and the overall quality of films has been appalling of late. It's also become routine for every film to focos solely on the hero.
Still, there have been some nice performances in Malayalam films in 2010. Here, we take a look at some of the industry's top actors and how they've fared this year.
Before we begin, a few honourable mentions, for actors like Thalivasal Vijay (Yugapurushan), Kunchacko Boban (Elsamma Enna Aankutty) and Suresh Krishna (Kutty Sranku). While these actors were brilliant in their roles, they just barely missed the list.

Was Anwar a hit or a flop? The debate rages on today, but the initial numbers that the film managed to garner were quite astounding. Prithviraj may have more flops than hits, but he has carved out a niche for himself and nobody doubts that he is an established young superstar.
He attained national attention with Mani Ratnam's Raavanan, in which he romanced the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai. His time is all booked at the moment, with new projects being announced almost every other day. He has already become a producer with Santosh Sivan's Urumi. Now, there's word that he has plans to become a director!

Top 10 Malayalam actors of 2010 : Sify
It's countdown time yet again, and here is Sify.com's star ratings for 2010.
The ratings are based on how each actor's films performed at the box office this year. The actor may have been critically acclaimed, and given hits in the past, but to be accepted by the trade, it is their last hit that counts. Nothing else matters than commercial hits, which are the true indicators of mass acceptance.

There was a Prithviraj wave this year following the success of the mega hit, multi-starrer Pokkiri Raja. His solo hero Anwar took the best opening of the year, with Ernakulam Shenoys reporting Rs 11.62 lakh nett, the highest opening of the year in a single screen.
However, the producer of the film said in an interview that the film was a loss due to its high cost.
Prithviraj had five releases out of which one was a mega hit, which he has to share with Mammootty , one average grosser in Thanthoni and four failures.
