Jayasurya has replaced Prithviraj in director M Padmakumar’s forthcoming film ‘Pathiramanal’. Originally Prithvi was chosen for the lead role in it, but he himself opted out of the project stating date issues.
Sources claim that the Malayalam star is busy with four-five films and the dates of those films clashed with this film. ‘Pathiramanal’ is produced by Dhanush Productions, with the script by Janardhanan. Directed by M Padmakumar, it features Rima Kallingal in the lead role.
Tamil star Samuthirakani, who debuted in Malayalam with the movie ‘Shikaar’, will play the second lead in it. It is expected to start rolling in Alappuzha from this March and will be released in July 2012.
Earlier, Prithvi had worked in a Padmakumar movie – ‘Vaasthavam’, again scripted by Babu Janardhanan. He won the Kerala State Award for his performance as well. Only the release of the film will decide whether it will be a big loss for Prithvi.
