Prithviraj to act as JC Daniel in Kamal's next


Director Kamal is ready to recreate life and works of this pioneer of Malayalam film industry JC Danel . Prithviraj will be playing the lead role. In the film tilted as `Celluloid; actor Sreenivasn will play a pivotal role. J.C Daniel who made first Malayalam movie Vigathakumaran (lost son) in 1928. Apart from doing the script and production he himself acted as hero. Rosy from Thiruvananthapuram acted as heroine. But the film and the heroine, who belonged to lower class, received only flak from upper cast.

Since she acted in the movie and that was considered at par with prostitution, some of the orthodox society burned down her hut. She fled to Tamilnadu where she got married and spent the rest of her life. Nobody knows the whereabouts of Rosi after she left Trivandrum.

Daniel suffered from debts and to overcome the situation, he had to sell his equipments and close down his studio. That was the end of his film career.
Daniel spent the rest of his life as a dentist at Palayamkottai. He was into poverty towards the last days of his life spent at Agastheeswaram.

In this film Kamal will try to portray the agonies they faced.

The script is based on the novel written journalist Vinu Abraham on Rosi's life and autobigraphy of JC Daniel written by Chelangat Gopalakrishnan. Sreenivasan, and Samvrutha Sunil are believed to be among other characters in the film.
