Three songs to be shot for Aiyya

Director Sachin Kundalkar is gearing up to shoot three songs for his Hindi film Aiyya. While it is already known that Rani Mukerji is to do a laavani song and an item number wherein she will be reprising the songs of Madhuri Dixit, Sridevi and Juhi Chawla.

Rani Mukerji will be participating in a South Indian song with Prithviraj Sukumaran. All the three songs are to be canned from April 1 to 15 with Vaibhavi Merchant choreographing them.

Rani Mukerji is to don the navvaari (nine-yard) saree for director Sachin Kundalkar’s Aiyya. Her laavani number will be shot during a five-day spell at a 100-year old wada (old colonial house) at Bhor near Pune. The director said that one song will be shot at Ramoji Rao Studios in Hyderabad. It will be a ‘sort of South Indian’ song as the hero Prithviraj Sukumaran is playing a South Indian guy in the film. The item number is to be shot in Mumbai. Of the six songs in the film, three have already been shot.

The film is a quirky love story between a Marathi girl and a Tamil boy. The central theme of the film is quite interesting which is about a woman who finds a man desirable because he smells good. The romcom, produced by Anurag Kashyap and presented by Viacom 18, is set to release on September 28.
