The 2010 Malayalam blockbuster Pokkiri Raja that brought superstar Mammootty and Prithiviraj together on screen for the first time is being dubbed in Tamil as Raja Pokkiri Raja.
The film also marked the debut of Shriya Saran in Mollywood. Mammootty and Prithivi play brothers in the film, which is a mass masala entertainer.
Since the lead stars are equally popular in Tamil and the film has a lot of action, punch lines and dance routines akin to Tamil films, and also because the story takes place in Madurai, the makers decided to dub it in Tamil, said an inside source.
While Vyshakh has directed the movie, Jassie Gift is the music composer.
