Collage movies Rocking in South India

Well, each film industry keeps following its own trend for certain period of time and it keeps changing. Coming up with illustration, Kollywood earlier had love stories through cell phones, internet and other sources and most of the heroes were portrayed in chocolate boy roles. Then came the roles of fierce-filled action roles where the same chocolate boys came up performing ruffian roles. Fine! But the one and only theme that keeps working all the time is films portraying on college lives.

Taking up the top films in Tollywood, Mollywood and Kollywood are coming with movies with college as central themes. Happy Days, recently released Telugu movie is been rocking with houseful show even after 50 days. Now Prakash Raj has bought the remake rights of this movie and soon will be made in Tamil. On one corner we have Malayalam movie titled Chocolate that is not only a hit in Kerala, but in Tamil Nadu too. The film is about a women college where only one seat is allotted for a male student and that’s Prithviraj. The funny encounter that takes place between Prithviraj and other girls in the college is all the film about. Next coming to Kollywood, its Balaji Sakthivel’s Kalloori that will hit the screens on December 7. Produced by Director Shankar under the banner of S Pictures the film goes with the title for it revolves around the students from different family background join a college and rest of the film deals with their college days.

So the entire filmdom of South India is preferably coming up with college stories in order to attract youngsters. Let’s wait and see does it work for Kalloori as it is for Malayalam movies like Classmates, Chocolates and Telugu movie Happy Days. Why I am mentioning these movies is because, though based on college lives, they never centered on any sort of wrong portrayal of love and friendship like smoking, consuming alcohol and running behind for love.
